Christmas Movie Debate

Alright, it’s time for a Christmas movie debate. There are so many Christmas movies to watch each year. I know it’s really difficult to pick a favorite because I don’t think I even have a favorite. Of course there are the classics like Frosty the snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer, Miracle on 34th Street, A Christmas Story, etc. I’m not sure if “The Santa Claus” is necessarily a classic, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would most likely be at the top of my list.

However, there are also some of the newer Christmas movies like the ones the Hallmark channel premieres every year. I know you all have heard of Hallmark Channel’s countdown to Christmas. I try to catch the new ones, as well as most of the old ones, every year. It’s just something about the holiday cheer that they all make you feel. They always have the perfect endings and just make you feel happy inside. My husband gets so annoyed with me for wanting to watch them all the time during the holidays, but I just can’t help it.

Honestly, I would probably watch Christmas movies all year round if they were one all the time. I just love the feel good quality that they have. Hallmark normally does a Christmas in July week, and I am definitely tuning in each year for that. However, it definitely wouldn’t be Christmas time without watching some of the classic movies as well. I have to watch “The Santa Claus” at least a couple of times during the season. I can’t wait to see what movies my daughter ends up liking this year. Hopefully, she will love all of the Christmas movies as much as I do.

What are some of your favorite Christmas movies? Do you like the more traditional movies or the Hallmark style movies?
